[SALT LAKE CITY, UT AUGUST 21, 2025] \u2014 <\/span>Pioneer Theatre Company<\/b> (PTC), Utah\u2019s premier professional theatre company in residence at the University of Utah, kicks off its 25\/26 Season with the Utah premiere of <\/span>2 Pianos 4 Hands <\/i><\/b>in the <\/span>Meldrum Theatre at Einar Nielsen Field House<\/b> from <\/span>September 12-27<\/b>. The acclaimed Canadian comedy, written by <\/span>Ted Dykstra<\/b> and <\/span>Richard Greenblatt<\/b>, has toured the world since its 1996 debut and has been hailed for its virtuosic blend of music and storytelling. The production is described as follows:<\/span><\/p>

Amidst determined parents, quirky teachers, endless hours of practice, stage nerves, fierce competition, and the pursuit of excellence, Ted and Richard grew up as devoted \u201cpiano nerds.\u201d Musical wizardry and roaring comedy combine as these two savants play classical, pop, and everything in-between, all while portraying dozens of characters that took part in their quest for musical greatness. It\u2019s a theatrical experience not-to-be-missed!<\/span><\/i><\/p>

<\/span>CAST & CREATIVE<\/b>
<\/span>Comprising the cast are two actors with long histories associated with <\/span>2 Pianos 4 Hands, <\/span><\/i>including appearing together in a 2024 production. <\/span>Richard Todd Adams*<\/b> makes his PTC debut as Ted. His Broadway and tour credits include <\/span>Les Mis\u00e9rables <\/span><\/i>(Javert and Jean Valjean),<\/span> The Phantom of the Opera<\/span><\/i> (Raoul and Phantom), <\/span>The Woman in White<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Cats<\/span><\/i>, and <\/span>The Pirate Queen.<\/span><\/i><\/p>

Matthew McGloin*<\/b> plays Richard and returns to PTC for a third season in a row\u2014having appeared previously in <\/span>Agatha Christie\u2019s Murder on the Orient Express<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Prayer For the French Republic. <\/span><\/i>His NY\/Off-Broadway credits include <\/span>The Hello Girls<\/span><\/i> (Prospect Theater Company\/59E59), <\/span>Bastard Jones<\/span><\/i> (The Cell), <\/span>CasablancaBox<\/span><\/i> (HERE Arts), <\/span>Xanadu<\/span><\/i> (Piper Theatre), readings with Tectonic Theater Project, Abingdon Theatre Company, Dixon Place, and The Lark.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Tom Frey <\/b>is the US Resident Director of <\/span>2 Pianos 4 Hands<\/span><\/i>, having directed over 20 productions of <\/span>2P4H<\/span><\/i> at theatres around the country, including Portland Stage, The Cape Playhouse, Stages Repertory Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Pittsburgh City Theatre, North Coast Rep, and many others. He performed in the show over 600 times in the United States and Canada.<\/span><\/p>

Frey is joined on the Creative Team by Scenic Designer <\/span>Yoon Bae<\/b> (PTC\u2019s <\/span>The Lehman Trilogy, Waitress<\/span><\/i>); Lighting Designer <\/span>Michael Gilliam<\/b> (PTC\u2019s<\/span> The Lehman Trilogy, <\/span><\/i>Broadway\u2019s <\/span>Bonnie & Clyde<\/span><\/i>); and Sound Designer <\/span>Matt Mitchell<\/b> (PTC\u2019s <\/span>A Case for the Existence of God<\/span><\/i>). Emily Roth* is Production Stage Manager.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

CURTAIN CALL FOR ALL<\/i><\/b> UPDATE
<\/b><\/b>After launching its successful Curtain Call for All initiative, a \u201cname your own price\u201d ticket model set for specific performances, during the 24-25 Season, PTC announces an expansion of the program. During the 25-26 Season, a limited number of Curtain Call for All tickets will be made available for each and every performance (108 performances in total). These tickets will also start at a minimum suggested price of $15 and can be purchased by visiting or calling the PTC Box Office at 801-581-6961.<\/p>
